New for 2018 - MDLL Softball
by posted 02/03/2018

Coming this spring Mason District Little League (MDLL) is introducing a new softball division for girls ages 9-12. No experience necessary to sign up, just girls who want to have fun and learn the game. The intent of this new division is to 1) provide a local team for girls interested in softball who are currently travelling to leagues outside of the district and 2) recruit girls who will be new to softball in order to help prepare future players for the Annandale High School (AHS) and Justice High School (JHS) softball programs.

Practices and games will start at the end of March and run through early June, with official registration starting in late February. This initial flyer is being distributed in order to gauge interest. Based on the number of girls who sign up the new team(s) will either play all games locally in the district, or look to partner up with a neighboring league.

As a new program the league is looking for managers and coaches, along with anyone interested in helping in to get the first season up and running. Don’t worry if you don’t have softball experience, the AHS and JHS softball programs have pledged their support to help coach the coaches. Tom Dickson has been managing and coaching his daughter’s baseball teams for MDLL for seven seasons, since 2012. He is leading this effort in order to extend their time spent on the ball fields together for a few more seasons.

- Contact Tom at with your daughter’s age and number of seasons having played baseball/softball.

Click to download this flyer so you can distribute to any family or group that would have an interest injoining us this spring.

by posted 02/02/2018

Welcome to the start of the Spring 2018 Baseball season.  MDLL hopes to build on its successess and growth from last season with continued improvements and new exciting programs and events that will strengthen the league in numbers, outreach and memorable experiences.  We have long contended we are the most positive, supportive and affordable youth sports organization in the area and that will always be our mission.

I will give a quick flurry of important dates to be aware of, but will likely follow up later this weekend with more exciting things to come about our upcoming season.

GLORY DAYS GRILL - the fantastic, community supportive restaurant recently opened and has chosen to be a premier sponsor of Mason District Little League. We are super excited at their support.  Our league was one of only three organizations locally that they are backing.  In return for their support, we will thank them by repeated visits to the restaurant.

They are hosting a grand opening MDLL party on February 28th.  Details and flyers to follow.  This will be a fun kick off event for MDLL players and families  new and old.  I urge every family to attend and support.

We are excited to be a part of the Nationals Uniform Program again and along with complimentary jerseys and hats, the Washington Nationals have many additional exciting game, event and experiences available to our league.

We will again roster an Intermediate Level team for our 13 year old players as a great stepping stone experience for players exiting little league 60' diamond, before jumping to the 90' level of play.

Also a grassroots, league and neighborhood effort is underway to initiate an MDLL girls softball team.  All girls,  9-12 years old, are urged to express interest.  We are excited to have support from neighboring districts as well as coaches from Annandale HS and Justice HS to lend expertise and support. More details to follow.

Our league members, players and families are our best advocates for our league, so please spread the word to any and all about the upcoming season.  Neighbors, schools and friends alll should get a prompt from our members about the upcoming season.

We promote the league, but supplementary notes from members on neighborhood and PTA listserves/websites do even more to grow the league.

Please echo this announcement on facebook and other social outreaches to friends and colleagues.

President, MDLL
